OpenVTL
A free, open-source virtual tape library for IBM i, developed and supported by Emerald Coast Technologies.
OpenVTL presents itself to IBM i as a familiar tape library over Fibre Channel, so existing backup procedures keep working while the tapes become disk and, optionally, object storage.
The software is free to download and use. Emerald Coast Technologies offers evaluation and support engagements for shops that want a partner behind it.
OpenVTL comes out of the same IBM Power work described on the services page. The people who write it are the people who support it.
